The show is internationally acclaimed as a blend of dancing, acrobatics, visual theater and humor designed to bring aluminum to life for family entertainment

“The Aluminum Show,” an internationally acclaimed presentation that defies precise definition, moves into Oklahoma in April for the longest stretch of its second United States tour.

Tulsa will host six performances April 5-10 and Oklahoma City will host six more April 12-17.

The show has been bouncing around the world to rave reviews since 2003.

AIlan and Ella Munk Azrial originated the show in Israel. According to its producers, the Aluminum Show is a spectacle that “combines movement, dancers, visual theater and plenty of humor.”

Bring Aluminum to Life

It’s all built around a chemical element that has changed the world in the last century, especially with its role in the aviation and auto industries and such everyday items as soft drink cans and kitchen foil. The goal of the producers was to bring the aluminum to life.

The producers say most of the aluminum was found in factories and technical supply stores. Dancers and “physical actors” were auditioned for the strenuous roles required in the show.

In the show, aluminum is personified to serve a wide variety of roles, including that of a man-eating monster, a squirming snake-like creature and as a balloon floating over the audience. It carries “the story of a young machine determined to reunite with its parents.”

The producers introduced the show in Jerusalem in 2003. They have since shown it in Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Moscow, Madrid, Athens, Eindhoven, Lisbon, Ankara, Edinburg, Bucharest and other cities in Argentina, Holland, Nigeria, France, United Kingdom, Mexico and Germany

Trump Plaza in Atlantic City

It was first brought to the United States in 2008 for 60 performances at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. It returned in January 2010 for its first American tour.

The 2011 American tour includes performances in 40 cities and 29 states. It opened with presentations in Lubbock, Texas and then followed with stops in several southeastern cities, including Norfolk, Virginia, Augusta and Valdosta, Georgia, Maryville, Tennessee and Charleston, South Carolina.

In February and early March it was scheduled to bounce across the United States for more than a dozen performances from New York to California. It then returns to the South for performances in:

  • Houston, March 24 and 25
  • Lake Charles, Louisiana, March 26
  • Little Rock, March 29-31

The Tulsa performances will be in the Chapman Music Hall. In Oklahoma City the show will appear at the Civic Center Music Hall.
